With the Kerala government giving the nod to reopen tourist centres after a forced 8-month hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, travellers have started to visit Wayanad district, a favourite destination in Kerala.The centres under the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) have been reopened and the Pookode Lake hosted the most number of visitors, nearly 196, in the district on Friday.Facilities such as online registration and QR code for entering requisite information were put in place as part of receiving tourists. As the QR code was successfully put into use at Edakkal cave, this facility will be extended to other tourist spots in Wayanad district.The authorities concerned will also make sure that the visitors are following the COVID-19 protocol.
